IRIS success continues

IRIS 1500 l

A compact addition to the IRIS family continues the success of IRIS 3 ducted mistblower which won a silver medal at FIMA show in Zaragoza this year.

The IRIS spraying method goes beyond any known application technique in row crop.  The outcome of years of research and development in air spraying technology at HARDI the IRIS 2 makes it début on the market.

Ideally suited to row crop spraying in vines, raspberry or similar planting, the IRIS 2 is a new compact design, compared with the IRIS 3 making it more suitable for smaller narrow rows.

IRIS secures the application in the most demanding area of the vines

Santiago Valles runs a 70 hectare farm in Penedes west of Barcelona, where he grows Chardonnay, Macabeo, Xarello, Parellada, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Santiago was looking for a precision sprayer that could deliver the highest level of biological efficacy and settled for the new HARDI IRIS 2 mistblower.

With the conditions at Santiago Valles farm, manoeuvrability and operating efficiency were important considerations because there is always much more to do than just spraying. The 1500 litres trailed sprayer with B50 boom and IRIS 2 application system was an ideal solution for the farm, where integrated farm practises are part of the daily life in order to full fill the high European standards

The easily operated B50 boom is hydraulically controlled via a switch box from the tractor cabin. The load sensing hydraulic technology used ensures the tractor power consumption stays at the lowest level possible and oil never over heats.

The switch box provides comfort and safety for the driver as the operator is able to make all boom adjustments from the cabin. Contractors and farmers who spray many different row spacing’s are able to adjust the width of the boom from the driver’s seat. Depending on plant density and forward speed, the air direction and air volume can be adjusted to suit the application and in some cases parts of the IRIS  2  drop leg can be shut off if no liquid or air is needed in that area.
